Leveraging ASEAN as a Strategic Hub for Korea’s Global Agri-Food Growth

The Government of the Republic of Korea has designated 30 overseas diplomatic missions as “K-food hubs” for 2026, strengthening its global food export drive.

Announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier this year, the initiative supports the “K-Food Expanding into Global Markets” policy and Global K-Food Export Strategy, namely:

  • 5 hubs in key markets (U.S., China, Japan)
  • 17 in high-potential regions (ASEAN, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East)
  • 8 in emerging markets (Oceania, Latin America & the Caribbean, Africa)

For greenhouse growers and fresh produce exporters, the hubs will provide hands-on, in-market support — from regulatory guidance and non-tariff barrier navigation to customs, quarantine, and local distribution channel development.
